St. Patricks @ The Sayers Club 3.17.12

Laugh if you want to, but you can't put a price on a good time- so yes, once again I ended up at Sayers twice in one week.   This time I have a great excuse- my girl Chloe Leighton (who I previously posted about here) was performing so naturally I had to go.   I am so glad that I did!!!!
First up, the ever impressive Maiya Sykes.   This diva owns that stage, every time.   It never ceases to amaze me at how her voice is powerful enough to control the entire room- literally every eye is on her when she sings.

Next up, was a great cover of the Amy Winhouse 'Valerie' - I did not catch her name but this girl owned it!   I had trouble uploading the video but here it is now... and if you know her name please comment because I want to give her credit!

Moving on to Chloe- watch this and tell me she did not blow it out of the water!   I never thought of taking this song, slowing it down and making people groove to it, but she did exactly that and made it wonderful on a whole new level-

Because I know her family back home is watching this, I just want to say that Chloe is amazing and I am really glad that I am able to let you watch what she does so well by putting up these videos for you.   It must be hard to be so far away from her and hopefully this makes your day a lot better and gives you comfort knowing she is doing great things and surrounded by people who care about her!

For the last performance of the night, they did a phenomenal cover of The Temper Trap by Fader.  I can admit that I wasn't familiar with the song prior, but now I am all over it and very grateful to have been introduced to it!   (And congrats on your graduation - I didn't get a chance to tell you after the show but very happy for you!)

In hindsight I realized that while standing at the very front to watch the show is awesome live, it messes with the sound quality a bit, so next time I will try to get back to one of the other spots where the audio was clearer.
