Anyway, so this all brings me to a site I was just told about (shout out to you two for that!) called RapGenius. (RapGenius - look at it here)
It literally is genius. Basically the idea is like a lyrical wikipedia of sorts- people input the meanings to the lyrics of rap songs.
I KNOW!
You would have thought this existed forever ago, right?
For instance- I was recently listening to the Soulja Boy song 'Kiss Me Through the Phone'. You know that high part in the chorus where no one knows what he is saying? Well, I have a friend who actually does know the lyrics to everything and he informed me after I tried (and failed) to mumble along that not only did he know the lyrics- but that it was a phone number! Yuh.
I need you in my life, yeah all day everyday I need ya
And every time I see ya my feelings get deeper
I miss ya, I miss ya, I really wanna kiss you but I can't
Six, seven, eight, triple nine, eight, two, one, two
see that 678-999-8212.
So naturally, I tried calling it... I had heard that it used to go to a recording of some sort but this time it did not allow me to make the call. Boo.
My point is- it's awesome. Another song I went and tested was the Drake song "I'm on One" with Lil Wayne... http://rapgenius.com/Drake-im-on-one-lyrics
It is really funny but also helps you understand what they are trying to say... literally GENIUS.
