Dear Private Practice...Executions and Funerals?

It seems you did not read my earlier letter, in which I voiced my discomfort with the track this particular season seems to be taking.   I expected that we'd have to sit through Bizzy's funeral, but alien-Addison is just plain creepy.   Can I also mention, I am not clear if we are supposed to pretend the whole Charlotte getting brutally violated thing didn't happen or believe that she is magically fine now...she seems a little too chirpy at the moment if you ask me.   I can't stand that the dad from 7th Heaven is such a jerk and 'The Captain' here.   I know he is cast for his waspy look but he is supposed to be all kind and do-gooding.   So weird.   Speaking of weird- Addison keeps referring to Susan (well her ashes in the urn anyway) and trying to relocate her in the house because no spot seems right.   So odd, so creepy.

As for the death row inmate thing.   No.   Just no.
Why on earth do we need to have another Sheldon/Violet double duo therapist thing?   And really, the guy finally realizes with 48 hours to go, that he needs to clear his conscience and tell his wife who has been trying to save him from the death penalty for seventeen years that he is actually guilty?   Then for the wife to go to the widow of the man her husband murdered and ask her to call the Governor to stay the execution?   Really?   It gets worse- not only do they tell the guy he has to go to get executed and he begs for more time because his wife hasn't come back yet after running out when he told her the truth- she runs into the prison and begs to see her husband and is told once the prisoner is taken to prep there is no more outside contact, all she can do is watch the execution.   She bangs on the glass, he sees her- then he dies and she cries.

So I interrupt myself here to state I don't believe in the death penalty.   I understand that this may cause a lot of issues with people who will read this and I apologize if this offends anyone, but I don't believe we ever have the right to willfully kill another person- with intent.   When a person is judged in a courtroom (criminally) a huge basis for every legal argument and platform is intent.   As a human race we have the responsibility to try to make sure every person lives as long as possible on this earth.   you never know which person will be the next Einstein, Gandhi, Hitler...you just don't have the right to take another life.   So to segue back to the show- no, don't show me an inmate being executed.   Don't tell me a man murdered someone and then was put to death after serving seventeen years.   Let him spend the rest of his life in prison- that is punishment, believe me it is- but you don't have the right to kill him, that is just multiplying the amount of wrong that came out of the original wrong action.

Excuse me for being offended but the show cuts from dead inmate and sad wife-now-widow and Violet and Sheldon...to Addison placing Susan-ash-urn in Bizzy's casket.   That was a harsh jump my dears.   We were still supposed to be wiping away tears, the least you could have done was shown them walking out of the prison and maybe then cut to Addison walking into the room...nah, don't bother, it wouldn't have helped anyway.   At least she finally found a damn place for Susan-Ash-urn.   Nope wait- it gets more uncomfortable- now we are watching them struggle to hold it together at the funeral while dramatic Lilith Fair music plays.   And Addison watches her brother crumble and cry...how come Bizzy gets a funeral but not Susan-ash-urn?   Where's her family?  Never mind, I stopped caring the minute Addison put her down.

So, Private Practice, I think you are reaching a bit far- and I reiterate my sentiment from last week- it is getting really hard to like you and stay loyal, as much as I want to.   I already warned you about the other shows I cut for being too damn predictable and repetitive- I wasn't aware I'd have to include annoying in that list...please don't make me do the same to you.   I like seeing Addison's hair getting longer and I still have a TV crush on Pete (although he is seriously, seriously underutilized as a character in the story at this point).

Fingers crossed next week doesn't suck,
Chani

  2. Thanks for taking the time to comment on my opinion anyway, can't please 'em all and not going to try. I'm open to hearing your thoughts or criticism about the show instead of just a sourpuss comment about my post.

  3. Dude ur post of total b.s. yet I get its ur opinion.

Susan WANTED to be cremated and in the wedding ep it was brought up that susan had no friends or family. How's about u go back and pay attention.

Now imo the ep should have been completly about the funeral and the execution should have been used for a different episode.

  5. My bad, I have been watching the show on Hulu while I play games on my phone so I guess I was distracted and forgot about Susan, who I felt was an added on after thought of a character thrown in to get viewers to pay attention because even the writers knew it was getting boring so naturally they scandalize us with a lesbian relationship.

I'm just bored with the show, and it sucks because I loved it when it was good. Naomi whines, Dell died, Charlotte is a bitch, Cooper became a wimp, Sam is still hot and Violet was never a favorite so I still don't like her. Addison is by far my favorite character along with Pete, but the story line blows this season- it's super painful and such a let down. Sheldon and neuro-chic Derek's sister who's name I forget are decent characters too...but there's very little substance any more.

Hope you're not a fan of Bones or House, I'm sort of losing interest in them too and as soon as I get around to watching them I'll be writing them up (prob Mon/Tues).

    Thanks for responding d(*-*)b
