Britney vs. Lady Gaga: Which Single is Better?

I am sort of torn between them both and can't decide.
Britney has the music formula down and her song 'Hold It Against Me' sounds current and fresh, brand new.   Lady Gaga's song 'Born This Way' sounds old and new at the same time sort of- like something you have always listened to.   Just getting down to chronology, since they sound sort similar, Britney wins because the sound Gaga is using was done by Britney first.

Born This Way sounds like an 80's song with current electronic mixing.   It also reminds me of 'Bad Romance' a little bit - you know 'walk, walk, fashion baby, make them move that b*tch like crazy'.   Hold It Against Me has the advantage of being formulaic- by which I mean the Britney team knows the how to make her songs addictively awesome and also utilizes her signature electronics.  The pace of Gaga's song remains the same throughout whereas Britney's changes pace, which I like.   I also like how Britney sings the chorus, where Gaga sort of growls hers.   I feel like I am cheating with one on the other!

Based on my own feelings I think i have to go with Britney on this one, but it's really close.   I definitely am looking forward to hearing what these two women put out.   It's sort of shaping up to be a showdown of epicness where the Dutchess of Pop (Britney) is going up against the current Pop Darling (Gaga).
What do you think?   Listen to them after the jump...

With the release of Lady Gaga's latest single, "Born This Way," this morning (Feb. 11), pop music fans have finally been able to compare the track with the other reigning pop diva's highly anticipated new single  -- Britney Spears' "Hold It Against Me."

Since the first single to Spears' forthcoming seventh album "Femme Fatale" debuted on Jan. 10, the song has debuted at No. 1 on the Hot 100 and sold 790,000 copies through four weeks, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The full-length music video for "Hold It Against Me," which was produced by pop maestros Lukasz "Dr. Luke" Gottwald and Max Martin along with the producer Billboard, debuts next Thursday (Feb. 17), before "Fatale" hits stores on Mar. 29.

While "Hold It Against Me" is a sexy, kinetic dance song, "Born This Way" is a disco-tinged call-to-arms that urges the listener, "Don't be a drag, just be a queen." After Lady Gaga performs the song at the Grammy Awards ceremony on Sunday (Feb. 13), the single has a shot at debuting at No. 1 on the Hot 100 -- becoming the 1000th song to take the top position on the chart.

Now that both songs have been released, it's your turn to tell us how you feel about them. Vote for the pop single you think lives up to the hype, and sound off in the comments section below.
